Reason Why You Should Not Disable Right Click Menu
Actually, I wanna write this because I’ve just blogwalking from other site and i feel boring on that site. I can’t use right click menu. The right click menu was disabled by the site admin. This is very annoying because it is reduce user interactive within the site. I would explain more about this issue after I search enough source. Here it is.
Reason
Why you need to disabled right click menu on your website? what is benefit to you when your website disable the right click? Is that make sense? Or you want protecting your website content to be stealed? Then right click menu is not a right choice for you.
Navigation
When someone visit a website and he/she want to read its content in the new tab/window browser, he/she would click the right button on mouse and click menu “Open site on new tab/window” or any similar menu. With right click is disabled, you can’t. Its very annoying isn’t it?
Protecting your images, content, or anything?
Its pointless. You could not guard your content that not to be stealed by other person in this world. Even you disabled the right click menu, a savvy user can trick you out. The user just disabled their javascript enabled option of their browser, or save your website content using File-Save As menu, viewing your HTML(Hyper Text Mark-Up Languange) source by clicking View-Source. Moreover, they have your copy of your website in their browser cache. With all this trick, they have your web content and you have no ability prevent this happen. How can you handle that? A lizard can not fooling a crocodile.
And don’t assume every body come to your website intend to steal your content and use it in their site.
Is Disabled Right Click Menu Make a Sense?
If you were still using disabled right menu on your site, remove it. Its don’t make any worth for you. Your content still can be stealed, with some tricks I describe above. There is a saying :
“If you don’t want people to steal your stuff, don’t put it on the internet.”

oh, iya mas aku punya tips buka link di tab baru tanpa right click.
caranya klik link sembari pencet tombol CTRL maka link akan muncul di tab baru
@my blog 4 … : how many people use your trick? Did they often use CTRL trick? If you are same like people, you will use right mouse button rather than CTRL click isn’t it? Or how many times did you use CTRL click? It is about habit, people feel insulted when you disable it. If they were using CTRL click trick, what is right mouse button purpose?
I absolutely hate it when websites block the right click context menu. Its stupid. First of all if someone really wants to steal your content, they are going to figure out a way. Often its as simple as disabling js on that page.
And it really degrades the surfing experience of the reader.

Right-click is a feature of a computer: no reason to disable it.
Btw, what about custom right-click menu? Some websites have its own menu, not the browser’s standard context menu. It’s sometimes annoying too.

yang saya tahu, mematikan klik kanan untuk suatu halaman di situs adalah perbuatan yang sangat tidak profesional … selain hal tersebut membuatnya tidak aksesibel, juga dapat menghalangi pengunjung/pembaca untuk lebih leluasa bernavigasi dan melakukan kegiatan bermanfaat lainnya, misalnya ada pengunjung yang memerlukan pemeriksaan atau ingin cara lain untuk sebuah link/tautan, kalau klik kanan dimatikan maka beberapa fungsi/fitur tidak dapat dilakukan. bagaimana seandainya isi konten halaman tersebut dirasakan sangat bermanfaat bagi pengunjung dan ia ingin menyimpan sebagiannya saja (paragraf misalnya) dan dikarenakan hal di atas maka tidak bisa …
kebanyakan orang mematikan klik kanan untuk situsnya dikarenakan takut kontennya diambil (baca: dicuri) orang lain, padahal untuk mencuri konten masih banyak trik yang dapat dilakukan orang, mengaktifkan fitur no-script di browser misalnya. karena itu mematikan klik kanan justru akan menghalangi niat yang baik dari orang lain…
saya sangat kesal kalau ada situs yang seperti itu … mungkin saya tidak akan datang selamanya lagi ke sana …

@abrari : The custom right context menu in web based IDE i think is reasonable and acceptable. Since you often working in desktop IDE, you will familiar with it. But if it is just ordinary website, just disable your javascript and browse again.
But actually, they just make the custom right click context menu on some part on website. But I don’t know if they aren’t.

@rismaka : saya setuju dengan “A lizard can not fooling a crocodile”. Walaupun mereka tetap memberlakukan sampai setahap DRM, content tersebut tetap dapat di curi. Apalagi hanya damn F-ing disabled right click context menu.
@nomercy : Stuju bang. Entah apa alasannya mendisablenya. apalagi disertakan pop up yang mengatakan, “Maaf, klik kanan di nonaktifkan”. What???!!!! BErarti silap melakukan klik kanan, maka tombol mouse kiri saya bekerja extra 1 klik. Menjemukan.

disabling right click is one of the big no for usability. especially for the navigation. too old school, I think. :shame:
emang sih rada kesel jg klo ga bisa klik kanan,, jadi terbatasi aksesnya..

Istilahnya, “kalian gak boleh kemana. kalian gak boleh klik kanan. kalian gak boleh ambil sebagian maupun keseluruhan isi blog ini. Kalian harus menelurusi tiap link blog ini dengan tidak menggunakan window/tab baru. Menggunakan window baru di perbolehkan dengan cara CTRL + klik atau cara lainnya”. Kira2 seperti itu lah yang terjadi saya rasa.
